I have a deep heart-cry
That I like to put in verse.
All may not like to hear it that way
But that is their choice.

It is the expression of a lover
Speaking to the one he loves
When ordinary words cannot tell
Of the love deep in his heart.

My people, I would have you understand
The depth of love I have for you.
It was expressed when I gave my Son
My Beloved Son
Who bled and died for you.

Yet the depth of my love is not fully grasped
And today I cry out to you.
I long to pour out my blessings
I long to hold you close –
Yet still you prefer to put other things first
And I wait – and I wait – and I wait for you.

Hear the cry of my heart today –
Let me show my love to you.
All the promises in my Word;
I hold them out to you.
Take hold of them
They are for you
They are an expression of my love for you.

Come sit with me –
Close to me
So I can hold your hand
Intimately.
Relax with me, knowing
My love is greater than any other force.
Receive and pass on my healing love.
My victory, now, enforce!
